Pick by Use, Not Just by Number
70% and 50% keep a lighter appearance. 35% is a common reference point because North Dakota law currently requires at least 35% total light transmittance on applicable non-windshield windows. 20% and 5% are darker privacy looks and require careful attention to which windows they are used on.
Factory Glass Changes the Result
A film labeled 35% does not automatically make the completed window exactly 35%. The glass itself already transmits less than 100%, so the finished VLT is the combination.
Night Driving Matters
Darker is not automatically better. Think about night visibility, backing up, rural roads and winter darkness before choosing solely for appearance.
